I recently attended an enlightening session on Salesforce Data Cloud at the Salesforce World Tour in London. The insights gained were transformative, illustrating how Salesforce Data Cloud can revolutionize data management and enable businesses to become AI-driven enterprises. Here’s a comprehensive overview of the session and how you can leverage Data Cloud to unlock the full potential of your data.
Unlock and Activate Your Data with Salesforce Data Cloud
Salesforce Data Cloud is a hyperscale engine within Salesforce that allows you to harness any data across all Salesforce clouds. It empowers businesses to power AI with trusted business data and metadata, seamlessly integrating with an open data lake and model ecosystem.
Massive Data Processing Capabilities
Salesforce Data Cloud processes over 2.4 trillion records per month, managing both structured and unstructured data. This includes everything from PDFs and knowledge articles to social media feeds. Think of structured data like a library’s author arrangement (A-Z), while unstructured data represents the diverse content of the books themselves.
What’s New in Data Cloud?
- Hyperforce UK Availability: Starting July 31st, Data Cloud will be available on Hyperforce UK, enabling local usage.
- Vector Database Launch: On June 7th, Salesforce launched a vector database designed to analyze unstructured data.
- Proactive Asset Management Pilot: Also commenced on June 7th, this pilot aims to enhance asset management capabilities.
- 200+ New Data Cloud Connectors: These connectors will allow businesses to integrate both structured and unstructured data from various sources, including custom and out-of-the-box connectors with MuleSoft.
The Journey to Becoming an AI Enterprise
Salesforce outlines a five-step process to becoming an AI enterprise:
1. Unify apps and data
How Does Data Cloud Work?
Connecting and Harmonizing Data
Data Cloud connects data from anywhere whether it’s structured, semi-structured, or unstructured. It then harmonizes this data by preparing, transforming, and mapping it to a unified metadata model while resolving customer identities.
Actions and Insights with Einstein 1
Einstein 1 leverages real-time data and a comprehensive CRM apps framework to provide actionable insights. Built on Salesforce’s integrated metadata framework, it includes data models, AI prompts and actions, record types, page layouts, sharing rules, code, flows, reports, dashboards, and validation rules.
Enhancing Every Cloud with Data Cloud
2. Discover AI insights
Salesforce’s AI, known as Einstein Copilot(GA now), is a powerful assistant for CRM tasks, capable of creating content and automating tasks. Each cloud benefits from this AI:
Tableau Enhancements
- Tableau Pulse: Provides insights directly within your workflow, allowing for visualization and connection of data points with natural language insights.
- Einstein Copilot for Tableau: Accelerates the process from data preparation to visualization.
3. Collaborating with AI in Slack
Salesforce is integrating AI into Slack with new features:
- Copilot in Slack: GA Sept 24.
- Record channels: GA Fall 24 (have conversations on records).
- Sales elevate: GA 2024 (it allows you to see opportunities and deals in real-time across every device And it allows you to update them again right in your flow of work).
- Slack Lists: GA 07th June (allows you to bring project management right into the conversation your team is having, so you can align your team around the tasks to be done).
Collaborate and Innovate with Slack
Slack integration takes collaboration to the next level:
- Slack Record Channel: View and update Salesforce records within Slack, eliminating the need to switch between applications.
- Slack Lists: Manage projects from start to finish within Slack, aligning team tasks seamlessly.
Leveraging AI with Copilot
Salesforce Copilot is an AI assistant that helps create content, automate tasks, and personalize customer interactions. By utilizing customer data from Data Cloud and adhering to brand guidelines, Copilot can draft personalized communications and provide relevant insights.
For example, during the customization process of Abigail’s DB12, Copilot can provide updates, suggest popular packages, and even solve potential issues by offering alternative solutions. This capability ensures a streamlined and personalized customer experience.
4. Give AI New Skills
- Einstein 1 Studio: Now GA, Einstein 1 Studio enables businesses to give AI new skills using low code and no code.
- Prompt Builder: Create prompts grounded in your company data, allowing users to communicate effectively with the AI.
- Model Builder: Build or bring your AI models, or tap into large public models.
- Copilot Builder: Customize your AI models with standard and custom actions relevant to your business tasks.
5. Equip AI To Act
Einstein Copilot: Taking Action for You
Einstein Copilot now takes action for you, allowing you to focus on high-value customer relationships and work.
How Einstein Copilot Plans and Acts: Whenever there is a data change or prompt, Einstein Copilot finds a plan and determines the next steps. It does this through the Einstein Planner Service, which sequences actions, clarifies intent, gathers input, and ensures tasks are completed efficiently.
The customer receives a text message confirming the service appointment, and the service agent is notified of the low health score via Proactive Asset Management powered by Data Cloud. All interactions and messages are visible in the Merchant view.
Conclusion
The session at Salesforce World Tour London highlighted the transformative potential of Data Cloud. By leveraging Data Cloud, businesses can unlock and activate their data, driving AI-powered insights and actions. This not only enhances operational efficiency but also provides personalized experiences that meet the evolving needs of customers. With tools like Copilot and integrations with Slack, the journey to becoming an AI-driven enterprise is more achievable than ever.
