Navigating Media Cloud Updates: Salesforce Summer 25 Release Highlights

Media Cloud Release

There is growing anticipation around the changes coming to Media Cloud as Salesforce continues to migrate industry features to its core platform—such as the upcoming availability of ASM on core later this year. At Palladin Technologies, we are actively monitoring all developments and enhancements across the industry clouds, including the Summer ’25 release and specific updates to Media Cloud.

The new Media Proposal Builder introduces an interface that significantly enhances the user experience for sellers and planners. It streamlines the process of entering all necessary details to create a comprehensive media proposal, including product-level budgeting, targeting criteria, and special campaign requirements. The proposal process is further elevated with the ability to generate pitch decks directly from within the platform. Templates with advertiser- or agency-specific branding can be created for pitch deck generation, reducing the time spent on manual data entry and enabling teams to be presentation-ready more efficiently.

Revenue forecasting and recognition are critical aspects of financial planning and sales operations. However, many organizations face challenges in accurately scheduling and tracking revenue for media campaigns. For industries that rely on recurring, phased, or milestone-based revenue recognition—such as media and advertising—precise revenue scheduling is essential for forecasting cash flow, managing sales performance, and aligning with quota targets. Without automated solutions, teams often rely on manual data entry, error-prone spreadsheets, or custom workarounds. These lead to inaccurate forecasts, operational inefficiencies as sales teams manually track campaign flights, limited visibility into future revenue streams, and reconciliation challenges when actual revenue diverges from projections.

The Summer ’25 release addresses these gaps by enabling organizations to automate the creation and management of revenue schedules tied to Opportunity Line Items. Actuals can be tracked through a new object, OpportunityLineItemSchdActual. This functionality allows businesses to allocate, monitor, and adjust scheduled revenue based on either a broadcast or Gregorian calendar, using either prorated or equal distribution. By implementing revenue schedule automation through the Generate Revenue Schedule Business API, organizations can achieve greater control, efficiency, and accuracy in revenue management—ultimately supporting better financial decision-making and enhancing sales operations.
